Sean made Calzones 😀

No WAY did he do this on his own though. 😉

I made the pizza dough the night before (The Pioneer Woman’s recipe)

Sean rolled it out with a decent amount of flour, divided in half, and set aside a small piece to roll out El’s mini-pizza. Then we laid down the toppings.

His: Grilled Italian sausage, marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella, green pepper, onion and spinach.

Hers: Grilled chicken breast, Frank’s Buffalo Sauce, feta cheese, marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella, green pepper, onion, and spinach.

I would have rolled out two round pieces of dough, then folded it over. However, Sean likes to do things his own way. I couldn’t even watch him do it. I told myself to have faith.

And he made it work 🙂 We placed them on a foil covered pizza tray, and sprayed the tops with non-stick cooking spray, and cut a few slits on top.

We then popped in a 400 degree oven for about 25 minutes. (El’s mini-pizza for about 10)

El said YUM! And she meant it. She hate her whole pizza!

 These calzones were MASSIVE

Here is the mine- I present the Buffalo Chicken Calzone!

Best Calzone I ever ate. Hands down!

Here is Sean’s Italian Sausage Spinach Calzone (this had a ton of Spinach in it)

Good Food = Happy Family 😀

A love this twist on pizza night. Definitively doing this again. The possibilities are endless for toppings fillings! 😉

Have a great night! Off to watch some Dr. Who (you don’t know what you’re missing…)

  2. What a great idea! We make our own pizza all the time, but if you can believe it, I’ve never thought of making a calzone. I bet the kids would love it — thanks for sharing!

  3. LOL! You sound just like me! I have to be very far away (or ill) when my husband is in the kitchen. hahaha. Those look yummy!!
